Laundry Day Productions is the joint filmmaking effort of writer/director/producers Abby Brooke and Henry Sheeran. We are an NYC based production company that specializes in short form narrative art across genres and styles. Our short films and web series have screened at festivals all over the United States and the world, from Los Angeles to Spain to the UK.
Our name reflects a few of our values:
Dump the whole hamper in and hit “warm," it’ll be fine! We don’t adhere to any one genre, style, or budget level. A grounded drama that stars a robotic vacuum? Sure. A short-form comedy about a medieval peasant? Definitely. A horror-romance on the beach? Catch us on the Cape in September!
We mix it all together.
Sometimes the best ideas come to you when you're folding your socks. Our absurd, improbable, genre-bending films always connect back to grounded artistic questions, passions, and personal life experiences. We let the mundane guide us to the spectacular.
We take inspiration from the everyday.
You wash, I'll fold. We pursue family-style filmmaking with small crews, where camaraderie and teamwork are paramount and everyone is empowered to bring their best creative self to set.
And most importantly…
We all pitch in to help out with the chores.
We use what we have.
On laundry day, you have to wear whatever’s clean. Necessity is the mother of invention.
We love meeting and collaborating with other up-and-coming filmmakers, artists, writers, and producers. If that sounds exciting to you, drop us a line!
Cheers,
Henry and Abby
